While it’s also known as the Feast of St. Patrick, most people are celebrating the occasion with a mostly liquid diet. Thankfully, there are tons of Barrie restaurants celebrating this year with both sit-down and take-home specials and services. Here’s how you can support local and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day 2021.
First up, we have an amazing tasting box curated by the experts at J’adore. The box includes three drams of whiskey (from three different Irish whiskies), Basil Salt Spring Island spreadable goat cheese, Baguettes, and a Tasting Card. This box will be available for pick-up on March 17th and is a culinary treat you don’t want to miss. If whiskey isn’t your thing they also have a box with Irish beer instead!
It seems appropriate to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in a place called Beertown. We have good news too because spending some time there means you won’t go hungry or thirsty. Beertown is offering up a special Corn Beef Sandwich feature that pairs perfectly with the O’Hara’s Irish Dry Strout they will be pouring from their nitro line! Sounds like the perfect combination.
While their taproom is temporarily closed, you can still easily get all the beer you need for St. Patrick’s Day through Redline Brewhouse‘s online store. There are core beer packs, brand new creations, and we recommend the “Goodest Pup” collection which features dogs in need of adoption and 15 cents from each can goes to Finding Them Homes in Barrie!
Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery
Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery has been making beer in Barrie longer than anyone else so it’s no secret they know what they’re doing. Their taproom is open on St. Patrick’s Day so you can enjoy all 16 beers on tap and even try their brand-new Double IPA called the Grand Terrestrial Rhapsody. Amazing food, amazing beer. What more could you need?
Whether you’re looking for something light to sip on or want a more traditional heavy drink for St. Patrick’s Day, Barnstormer Brewing has got you covered. The delicious watermelon-infused Windshear, the Donegal Oatmeal Stout, and the Lockdown Lager are just a few of our favourites and they all pair perfectly with all their amazing food!
O’Hara’s Public House
If you haven’t been to this hidden gem nestled in Letitia Heights, do yourself a favour and head over for St. Patrick’s Day. Warm and welcoming, O’Hara’s is the perfect spot to celebrate this year. They have some delicious specials like the Cottage Pie, Irish Burgers, and Guinness Braised Beef Tacos along with some nice giveaways planned for the 17th!
