Suspect charged after three poppy donation boxes were stolen in Waubaushene
Donation boxes were swiped from retail stores
Southern Georgian Bay OPP have charged a man following the theft of Royal Canadian Legion poppy donation boxes in Waubaushene.
Police were called to a store on Saturday afternoon about the theft of a donation box. Investigators were later informed that poppy boxes had also been stolen on the same day from two other stores in the community.
A 46-year-old Tay Township man has been charged with three counts each of theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and one count of failing to comply with a probation order.
The suspect has a court date in January.
