A suspect was arrested after police executed a warrant
Barrie Police

A Barrie man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in the city's north end early Saturday.

It happened at the Foundry Georgian townhouse complex on Georgian Drive.

Police posted to Facebook that a warrant was executed at around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at a Georgian Drive address and a 28-year-old man was taken into custody. Police have not revealed what he has been charged with.

Police indicated that no further suspects are being sought and that it was an "isolated incident," and there is no risk to public safety.

As a result of the shooting, a 21-year-old Toronto man was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
