Police say a vehicle suffered major damage when it struck a fuel truck Monday morning

A slew of charges for an Innisfil man after reports of a hit and run.

The South Simcoe Police Service was called to the area of Highway 89 and 10th Sideroad of Innisfil shortly after 8:30 a.m. Monday with reports of a crash. Officers arrived to learn the back end of a southbound fuel truck was struck by a northbound vehicle. Police say the vehicle took off with no attempt to stop.

The vehicle in question was located on the shoulder of the 10th Sideroad near the 4th Line. The driver was taken into custody. A 41-year-old man has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of a crash, driving under suspension, careless driving, and failing to report a crash.

While there was extensive damage to the front end of the suspect vehicle, police say there was only moderate damage to the fuel truck and no injuries were reported.
