Take A Stand Against The R-Word With #NoGoodWay Day

Use Your Voice, Make The Choice

Motionball, a not-for-profit organization supporting the Special Olympics movement, is taking a stand against use of the "R-word" with their campaign "No Good Way".

This ongoing campaign encourages people everyday to make the pledge to not use the R-word, but March 27th is deemed as the official "No Good Way" day.

With the help of donations, sponsors and volunteers, Motionball hosts multiple events across the country every year in support of the Special Olympics Movement. As a company who is passionate about helping those in Canada living with intellectual disability, the use of the R-word is a sensitive subject.

Today, and everyday, Motionball aims to educate people about how hurtful the use of the word "retard" can be and encourage others to remove it from their vocabulary. As Motionball explains on their website, "it hurts, even if you don't mean it that way".

Join the #NoGoodWay movement by signing up to take the pledge online. Taking the pledge represents your willingness to:

  • choose not to use the R-word in everyday conversation
  • educate others about the link between the R-word and bullying
  • show your support on #NoGoodWay Day

Over 14 000 people have already taken the pledge but there is still a long way to go. Since January 2018, almost 8.5 million tweets have been made containing the R-word. In order fight back against the common use R-word, every voice counts. So join the movement, use your voice, and make the right choice.
