Talks between province and elementary teachers enter a third day, negotiations to resume with English Catholic teachers

Another series of walkouts planned for next week if no deal reached

Talks between the province and the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) will enter a third day today (Friday).

Education Minister Stephen Lecce has suggested negotiations have been ‘productive’.

ETFO said this week it needs a deal done by today to avert a series of walkouts next week that would affect elementary schools in the Trillium Lakelands District School Board on Monday, the Simcoe County District School Board on Wednesday and the entire province on Thursday.

Negotiations between the province and the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association will resume Monday.

Those teachers have a province-wide walkout planned for Tuesday that would affect Catholic elementary and high schools.
