Teachers and students advised to be ready for remote learning exclusively in the new year

Province wants to ensure all boards are prepared for "all scenarios"

Students and teachers in Ontario are being advised to head home for the holiday break with everything they might need for at-home learning.

The education ministry has sent out the recommendation.

There are no firm plans to shut down schools after the break, but with things rapidly evolving in the province the ministry wants students and teachers to be prepared for anything in the new year.

School boards were asked before school started in September to ensure they were ready to switch to remote learning exclusively if required.
