The 1000 Island Drive-In: The only place in Ontario to catch a new movie

If you're up for a drive.
The 1000 Island Drive-In

The 1000 Island Drive-In in Gananoque seems to be the only place in Ontario you can go to watch a brand-new movie (until they re-open on January 31).

While you still can't get the theatre experience, if you've been itching to see a brand-new movie and are sick of streaming, The 1000 Island Drive-In is currently open with shows planned until January 27th. It's a two-movie special though as they are currently just showing the new Scream reboot and up next they will be showing Sing 2.

Here's the Scream synopsis:

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, California, a new killer dons the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town's deadly past.

Scream is showing one last time on Thursday, January 27 at 5:30 before Sing 2 takes over the following day. Prices are $9 for adults, $7 for kids, or pack as many people as you can and pay by the carload for $25!

With theatres like Cineplex reopening as soon as January 31, film fans will finally be able to enjoy some movies on the big screen again soon. However, if you just can't wait, or maybe you're just looking for a weekend adventure, Take the three-hour (well, three-and-a-half) hour drive to Ganonoque for a night at the movies.

Yes, it will be cold, but it's also a super unique way to spend a night.
