Disney is bringing the critically acclaimed musical, Hamilton, to its streaming platform next month and people are justifiably excited.
Hamilton tells the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton with music inspired by hip-hop, R&B, soul, pop, and traditional show tunes. It is also well known for its casting, putting non-white actors in the roles of the founding fathers and other historical figures.
Having garnered universal praise, Hamilton received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2016 along with a record-setting 16 nominations at the Tony Awards, winning 11 of those categories including best musical.
Hamilton is known for being notoriously difficult to get tickets for but now, thanks to Disney+, everyone will have a chance to see it starting July 3rd.
