A third person has been charged in connection with a kidnapping investigation in Bradford.
"On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, police responded to a call for service for a 32-year-old male victim who was able to escape a residence after being assaulted and forcibly confined. The initial investigation by the South Simcoe Police (SSP) Service Criminal Investigation Bureau – in collaboration with York Regional Police – resulted in the arrest of two adult males and the execution of two search warrants at residences in Bradford and King Township," SSP said in a news release on Friday.
The third suspect, a 23-year-old from Innisfil was arrested on Thursday and charged with:
-Kidnapping while using a Firearm
-Forcible Confinement
-Failure to Comply with Undertaking
-Assault with a Weapon
-Robbery with a Firearm
-Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
According to a SSP media release from Nov. 17, 2023, the victim told police he went to an address in Bradford on Nov. 13 to meet a friend.
Sometime later, two people arrived at the residence and began assaulting the victim inside the home.
Police said the man was kidnapped and taken to a second location in King Township where the assault continued.
The victim was able to flee the residence the next day and alert York Regional Police, who attended the scene and arrested the suspects.
A 46-year-old of no fixed address was charged with:
· Forcible confinement
· Assault with a weapon
· Robbery with a firearm
A 25-year-old from Toronto was charged with:
· Kidnapping while using a firearm
· Forcible confinement
· Failure to comply with judicial release (5 counts)
· Assault with a weapon
· Robbery with a firearm
· Firearm or weapon possession contrary to prohibition order (2 counts)
· Uttering threats
