Suspect identified in threat to Orillia elementary school

A threat was made on social media

Ontario Provincial Police say a person in the United Kingdom has been identified as a suspect involving a threat at Orchard Park elementary school in Orillia.

Police were present throughout the day on Tuesday following a threat made on social media. There was an extensive investigation and the IP address was traced to a person in the UK. Police contacted INTERPOL, who assisted with locating the individual.

The matter is now being dealt with by police in the UK.

Throughout the incident, police say they were in contact with school officials to ensure the safety of students and staff.
