The Ontario Provincial Police is probing the deaths of three people after officers were called to a Pyne Hills Court home in Tottenham shortly after 5:40 p.m. on Monday for a well-being check. When they arrived, police said there was a fire at the residence and officers requested assistance from New Tecumseth fire and County of Simcoe paramedics.

Two people were located dead inside the home, and one other person was transported to the hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

While the cause of death has not been confirmed, investigators believe there is no threat to others.

The Ontario Fire Marshal is assisting with the investigation along with the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario.

New Tecumseth OPP says the investigation is in its early stages and no further details can be released at this time.

Residents of the area should expect to see a large police presence.

If anyone has any information that may assist the investigation, they should contact the Nottawasaga OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
