Rumours are that Tina Fey is being courted to take over for Lorne Michaels as executive producer of Saturday Night Live.
According to the New York Post, NBC has spoken to her about taking the role.
The source told the outlet "I would be surprised if it wasn't her. Judd Apatow passed on the job years ago. Amy Poehler has her own stuff. Bill Hader is directing a movie. Kate McKinnon is too hot."
Tina Fey has a long history with the show, which she starred in from 1996-2007. She was a writer and weekend update anchor, has guest-starred many times, and is a member of the prestigious five timers club.
Lorne Michaels is the show's creator and has served as executive producer since its inception in 1975.
Michaels alluded to the fact he would retire after the show's 50th season in 2024/2025; however, there are currently no definite plans for his departure.
