Barrie police are investigating an act of mischief that occurred in a Yonge Street parking lot on Saturday.

The victim reported to police that he parked his vehicle around 8 a.m. before travelling to Toronto by train. When he returned around 10:30 p.m., he got in his car and began driving only to discover that his left-rear tire had been slashed.

The estimated cost of replacing the tire is $350, and there are currently no known suspects.

Police are reminding the public to conduct a circle check after leaving their vehicles unattended to quickly identify any issues.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Barrie Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
