Trail Tunes is back this weekend, and organizers say the fifth year of the multi‑community music-and-cycling festival is shaping up to be its biggest yet.

The event links four outdoor concert stops across Clearview Township, Collingwood, and Wasaga Beach, all connected by the Barrie-Collingwood Rail Trail and surrounding trail network. Riders can cycle between venues, take in live performances, and enjoy family‑friendly activities at each stop.

Grace Beeman, Clearview’s events and tourism coordinator, says the collaboration between municipalities is what makes Trail Tunes stand out.

“It is such a truly amazing and incredible event and it's something that's one of a kind,” she said. “We're so lucky to have such incredible partnering municipalities… to be able to run an event like that.”

Four Stages, One Continuous Day of Music

This year features four destinations, thanks to Simcoe County’s extension of the Barrie–Collingwood Rail Trail. Clearview has added a new venue in New Lowell, joining long‑running stages in Stayner, Wasaga Beach, and Collingwood.

Beeman says the schedule is intentionally staggered so riders can enjoy every performance without rushing.

  • Stayner - starts at 11 a.m.
  • New Lowell - starts at 12 p.m.
  • Wasaga Beach - starts at 1 p.m.
  • Collingwood - starts at 5 p.m.

“You’re not having to worry about missing concerts,” Beeman said. “You have the ability to really get to enjoy the music at every location.”

Listen below to our interview with Grace Beaman. It begins at the 12:30 mark.

Cycling Made Easy

For those planning to hit all four stops, Cycle Simcoe has created a dedicated Trail Tunes route map.

“They've actually created a specific route map… and it makes life a million times easier,” Beeman said. “We obviously want to ensure that people have an easy route and an easy time figuring out where they need to go.”

The event also lands on International Trails Day, during Parks and Recreation Month and Cycling Month, making it a natural celebration of outdoor activity and community connection.

Activities at Each Stop

Each municipality adds its own flavour:

  • Clearview is partnering with its youth centre for bike decorating, a hit with families.
  • All locations offer games, shaded rest areas, and scenic spaces to relax.
  • Collingwood’s Shipyards Amphitheatre provides waterfront views,
  • Wasaga Beach offers its signature shoreline backdrop.

Beeman says the settings are part of the magic: “It's even just a nice opportunity to be one with nature and really soak up the whole experience.”
