A Dozen Drivers Charged With Having Pot On Hand In A Car

The OPP Say hundreds of vehicles got a once over following legalization, due to a stepped up focus on impaired driving.

A four day blitz across Simcoe County from the OPP along with officers with Barrie, South Simcoe and Rama Police Services yielded a total of two Impaired By Drug charges. Additionally, police say there were twelve charges laid of Cannabis Readily Available in Vehicle.

Eight alcohol-related charged were laid in the four day blitz, along with a smattering of other charges including Obstructing Police, Stunt Driving, and Cocaine Possession.
