Two Hour Standoff Ends Peacefully In Innisfil
One Man Taken Into Custody
An Innisfil man is facing ten criminal charges as South Simcoe Police accuse him of arming and barricading himself in his own home.
Officers got the call to a Belle Aire Beach and Maple Roads area home around 3:30 Tuesday morning, saying a man, armed with a rifle, refused to come out. Two crisis negotiators spoke to the fellow for two hours, while other officers worked to keep the scene safe.
Shortly before 6:00, the man was taken into custody when he went into a rear garage to light a fire.
