The scourge of impaired driving was on a full display during the Thanksgiving weekend.
South Simcoe Police were doing speed enforcement on Belle Aire Beach Road in Innisfil on Saturday evening when they spotted a slowpoke driver travelling on the wrong side the road.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and a 60 year old Innisfil man was arrested following a roadside screening device test. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for a week.
Then, shortly after midnight on Sunday, police say a vehicle left the 20th Sideroad at the 2nd Line, crashed through the some trees before coming to a stop next to a house.
There were no injuries to the driver, but a 50 year old Innisfil man was charged with impaired, and he’s lost his licence for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for a week.
