Barrie Police say they are investigating vandalism at an elementary school on Cundles Road East, in which an "inappropriate image and some racial remarks" were spray-painted on two rear doors.

Police were alerted about the incident Wednesday morning.

From video surveillance, investigators believe the trio, who are believed to be males, were at the back of the school around 11 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police say they are unable to release any video due to provisions contained within the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They are asking anyone who many have information to contact the investigating officer:dguerrero@barriepolice.ca.

"Senseless acts of vandalism such as this are unacceptable and require immediate attention, that can be costly, by staff associated with the school. If anyone can help police with this investigation, the assistance will be greatly appreciated," said Barrie Police communications coordinator Peter Leon in a news release on Thursday.
