A 33-year-old man from Georgian Bay Township had a problem that grew in size after Orillia OPP were contacted just before 9 p.m. on Thursday about a vehicle in the ditch on Line 3 in Oro-Medonte.

Police were told the driver appeared to be drunk and was attempting to free the vehicle from being stuck, according to an OPP news release.

When police arrived, an investigation was launched and the motorist was charged two impaired driving related offences.

The suspect is to appear in court next month.

His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle is being impounded for seven days.
