A vehicle left Muskoka Road 169 near Hamills Point Road in Muskoka Lakes Township and landed down a deep embankment, according to Ontario Provincial Police.

Around 8:50 p.m. on Sunday, first responders were alerted about the collision.

"Members of the public tried to assist as the driver fled the scene and police located her at nearby licensed establishment," police said in a news release on Monday.

A 40-year-old Bracebridge woman was charged with impaired driving.

Her vehicle was impounded for seven days, and her driver's licence was suspended for 90 days.
