Vehicle Stolen From Accessible Parking Spot At Knife Point

Victim Unhurt in Incident

A vehicle parked in an accessible spot was stolen at knife point.

The Barrie Police Service say a woman parked her SUV on the west side of the Bayfield Mall Thursday, and when she returned to her vehicle shortly before 7:00, someone was waiting for her.

Investigators say a man approached her as she went to unlock the vehicle door, and after a brief conversation, forced his way into the front seat. Police say he drove out of the parking lot and left onto Coulter Street before leaving view. The vehicle hasn’t been spotted since.

The SUV is described as a 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) grey in color, with an Ontario licence plate of CALR 577, similar to the one pictured here.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • white
  • 5’7″- 5’8″
  • 20-25 years of age
  • medium/average build
  • dirty blonde hair
  • no facial hair
  • wearing dark coloured running shoes, a brown hoodie style sweatshirt or jacket

The victim, a woman in her 60’s was not hurt in the incident.
