VIDEO: Barrie's Best Kept Secret? The SpeakCheasy

The word is out on the prohibition-era bar
Barrie's bars and restaurants ask for extended patio hours

Some secrets should never be kept. The SpeakCheasy may have been the best kept secret in Barrie, but the word is now out on the prohibition-era bar, in the basement of J'adore Fine Cheese on Dunlop Street.

The Speakcheasy is a 1920's-style cheese & charcuterie cocktail bar in Downtown Barrie

Jessi Fournier and her sister Bekki Martin are the same people behind the SpeakCheasy, using their expertise of cheese and charcuterie boards from J'adore to open the cocktail lounge.

“If you’re looking for a fine cheese and chocolate place, J’adore is your spot. If you’re looking to enter the 1920’s prohibition era, just head downstairs."

The Speakcheasy has a new drink and food menu that is sure to keep you sneaking back for more. The new menu consists of cheesy sharing plates, like gourmet fondues and raclette.
