Video as police arrest suspects linked to a series of GTA armed robberies

The suspects face a combined 46 criminal charges

Dramatic video released by York Regional Police on Friday in connection with the takedown of suspects linked to armed robberies in York, Durham, Halton and Peel.

On Jan 20, York police say they were called to a currency exchange store in Richmond Hill about an attempted armed robbery. As the owner was opening the store, police say two armed men attempted to gain entry, but the victim was able to flee, and the suspects fled in a car.

Using air support, police say they located the car on Highway 407 and followed it into Durham Region where officers found the vehicle and four male suspects who investigators allege then robbed a bank in Whitby.

The video shows three people entering the bank while a fourth individual remains in the car.

Then, the video cuts away to three people fleeing from the bank and eventually being nabbed by police.

Police say the suspects are linked to a pharmacy robbery in Peel and a jewelry store heist in Oakville, as well as a robbery at an electrical supply store in Vaughan last month.

A 21-year-old man of no-fixed address, a 20-year-old male from Stoney Creek, along with a 16-year-old boy from Brampton and a 15-year-old boy from Toronto, are now facing a combined 46 criminal charges, including robbery.
