Virtual concert and baking contest included in Innisfil’s 200th birthday celebrations

Restrictions don't mean you can't celebrate

COVID-19 restrictions may have altered plans for Innisfil’s birthday, but Mayor Lynn Dollin says residents can still celebrate their community.

The Town, along with the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library is keeping the party going for its 200th birthday, starting with a free virtual concert tonight (May 29).

Acclaimed artist Michael Gabriel will be performing live on Facebook at 8pm.

You can RSVP by visiting the ideaLAB & Library’s Facebook event and learn more about Gabriel by visiting michaelgabrielmusic.com.

Residents are also invited to show off their baking skills in a cake decorating contest. From now until June 26, you can bake and decorate a cake celebrating Innisfil’s bicentennial, then send a picture to Innisfil200@innisfil.ca.

The winner will have a chance to win either a professionally-made cake or an expert baking lesson from Cakes by Beatriz.
