Got some space you're not using? Enough for six tables and ten people around it?
Volunteers working on behalf of Ukrainian refugees in the region could use it. Twice now they've been forced out of space they were using to collect and sort items for Ukrainian families in the Barrie area, and those still in Ukraine.
They figure a space at least 50' x 50', in or near Barrie (since this is where the majority of the volunteers live) will do the trick.
The space would also be used to store donated goods until they can be repacked for shipment to Ukraine.
More than 55,000 Ukrainians arrived in Canada between January and June of this year. As many as 40,000
came to Ontario. About a thousand are in Simcoe County.
In addition to everyday items like food, clothing, and toiletries, Ukrainian refugees in Barrie need daycare and babysitting, volunteers to get them to appointments, sports equipment, and art supplies.
Items needed for shipment to Ukraine include baby formula and diapers, canned meat and fish, powdered eggs, medical supplies, power banks for mobile phones, steel-toed boots, and water purification tablets,
