Over 300 participants will walk to fight MS on May 5th

Over 300 participants will walk to help fight MS on May 5th. The walk, which starts at The Ranch, will be a 5km wheelchair accessible route through Barrie.

In 2018, the Barrie walk alone raised over $75,000, not only for research into the cause, treatment and cure of MS but also to provide local programs and services for people living with MS. The MS walk is a national event with over 120 communities across Canada participating.

With over 77,000 people living with MS, Canada has one of the highest rates for the disease in the world. It is hard to meet many people in Canada who have not had there lives affected by MS. However, stories of compassion are also just as easy to find. "Krista's Krew" has been participating in the MS walk since 2000 has raised over $36,000 for local programs and MS research. Krista was diagnosed with MS 20 years ago and was quickly supported by friends like Dee and family, including her mother Linda.

Thanks to events like the MS walk, people living with MS can live normal lives and enjoy the things in life we all might take for granted. If you would like to donate to the event, start a team or even walk as an individual, visit the MS walk Website.
