Walmart backtracks on $35 purchase to score rapid test kit

Kits are available at grocery stores and pharmacies

Some blowback from the public and Premier Doug Ford seemed to convince Walmart to retract a policy that previously required customers to make an online order of at least $35 to receive a rapid test kit.

The province announced Wednesday it was making millions of tests available at grocery stores and pharmacies. In fact, the announcement was made at a Walmart in Kitchener.

Walmart had required customers to make an online pick-up in order to receive one of the COVID-19 rapid test kits.
