Local police have laid a few charges following some behind-the-wheel incidents.
South Simcoe Police were called out to 25th Sideroad in Innisfil around 7 p.m. Monday with reports a vehicle struck a parked car. Nobody was hurt. The driver, a 28-year-old woman from Washago, was arrested after police say she failed a roadside sobriety test.
On Wednesday, just after 10:30 p.m., a South Simcoe Police officer pulled a vehicle over along Holland Street in Bradford, where it was determined the driver’s licence was suspended. A 32-year-old man was taken into custody to face an operation while prohibited offence and was further charged after police say brass knuckles were found in the vehicle.
Just after midnight Thursday morning, the OPP pulled a vehicle over on Main St. in Penetanguishene. The officer, in speaking with the driver, determined he’d been drinking. A 40-year-old Midland man was arrested following a roadside screening, while police add the man was prohibited from driving in Canada and had open liquor and pot within reach inside the car. He was charged accordingly.
