It's a highly trafficked spot in the summer months, but with less travelers heading North this time of year things usually quiet down at Weber's during the winter.
This year, with the new installation of an NHL-sized ice rink, things might look a little different .
The land behind Weber's and Starbucks, located about 30 minutes up highway 11, has been leveled and development is almost complete.
Rink pads, lights, 10-inch boards, benches and fire pits are all in place and now it's just a waiting game with the weather. The final step for completion will be to flood the rink when temperatures allow.
The new rink is an extra special touch to make this popular stop just as enjoyable in the winter. Parents and spectators will be able to watch skaters with a latte in hand from a deck at Starbucks overlooking the 85 ft x 200 ft ice surface.
Once open, the operating hours of the rink will be 7 am-8 pm seven days a week (subject to maintenance and flooding). Stay tuned with Weber's and Starbucks on Instagram to find out when opening day will be.
