August 4 – The heavy rainfall over the weekend really left its mark at some locations in Barrie.

City Hall confirmed on Tuesday afternoon it will be closing Wilkins, Dock Road, and Tyndale Parks for rainstorm cleanup. Residents are asked to avoid these areas, with active construction ongoing. Crews have been on the scene since early Tuesday.

City crews are transporting new materials to the affected areas, as there was some erosion noted due to the rain. The rest of the city’s beaches and parks will be inspected for damage.

It is expected these locations will reopen as of August 7.
