Witnesses Boxed in Suspected Drunk Driver Outside Bradford

Both Good Samaritans Assaulted For Their Trouble

South Simcoe Police are handing out a hearty pat on the back to two individuals, said to have gone above and beyond to stop a drunk driver.

Around noon Tuesday, a vehicle reportedly struck a pedestrian at a Holland St. parking lot, before hitting a parked car and fleeing the scene. Two witnesses saw the whole thing and proceeded to box in the suspect’s vehicle, before physically restraining the driver.

Police say the two witnesses were assaulted by the driver and a female passenger before officers arrived, both were arrested and charged with Assault, while the driver, a 29-year-old man, is also facing a Drunk Driving and Drug Possession charge.
