South Simcoe Police arrested a woman in Innisfil Saturday after she was seen driving dangerously by patrol officers, whom she fled.
At 5:50 p.m., police saw a green Chevrolet pickup truck driving erratically between Sideroad 20 and Yonge Street on Innisfil Beach Road.
Officers tried to initiate a traffic stop, but were unsuccessful. The driver continued her style of driving, speeding towards Alcona in a residential area.
When she was seen entering a laneway of a nearby residence and stopping, police subsequently made an arrest.
The 30-year-old woman from Bradford was charged with:
Criminal Code (R.S.C., 1985, c. C-46) s.320.13(1) — Dangerous operation
Everyone commits an offence who operates a conveyance in a manner that, having regard to all of the circumstances, is dangerous to the public.
Criminal Code (R.S.C., 1985, c. C-46) s.320.17 — Flight from peace officer
Everyone commits an offence who operates a motor vehicle or vessel while being pursued by a peace officer and who fails, without reasonable excuse, to stop the motor vehicle or vessel as soon as is reasonable in the circumstances.
"Although the suspect’s action created a dangerous situation, fortunately, it ended without any inquiries or collisions," South Simcoe Police said in a news release.
The accused is set to appear in court in October.
