Woman charged in connection to viral video out of Wasaga Beach

SIU conducting probe after suspect was hospitalized after arrest

A 21-year-old Wasaga Beach woman has been arrested in connection to a video that caused waves on social media.

Huronia West OPP say a video made on August 22 in Wasaga Beach shows a woman berating others for parking near her home. Complaints were filed after the video appeared on social media, as it contained racial slurs.

A suspect has been charged with mischief, uttering threats, causing a disturbance and failure to comply with the terms of a release.

Huronia West OPP say the accused began showing signs of medical distress after being brought into custody and was subsequently taken to hosptial. As a result, the Special Investigations Unit has been brought in to probe the circumstances leading to her hospitalization.
