Women’s health at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital gets financial boost
Gets donation from Shoppers Drug Mart Growing Women’s Health Campaign
Shoppers Drug Mart, through its Growing Women’s Health Campaign, has donated $6,671 in support of women’s health at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.
The funds will support the purchase of Yellowfin Gynecological Stirrups for the Hospital, which will enable surgical personnel to position a patient’s legs safely and securely for surgical procedures.
“Shoppers Drug Mart stores in Orillia never cease to amaze us with their commitment to women’s health initiatives. This generous gift brings Shoppers’ total lifetime giving to the Hospital to over $80,000.”
– Lisa Wanamaker, Development Officer, OSMH Foundation
During the month-long campaign, customers of local Shoppers Drug Mart stores were given the opportunity to purchase and personalize their own paper “Growing Women’s Health” icon; a “leaf” for a loonie, a “butterfly” for $5, an “apple” for $10 and a “bird” for $50. The icons were displayed on the Growing Women’s Health Tree in all participating stores.
