YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka launches Community Survey in support of new strategic plan

Strategic plan is to launch in July

News release – from YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka

In an effort to uncover how they can best serve communities across the region, the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is inviting community members to share their insights in an online survey that will inform their new three-year strategic plan. The invitation to participate extends to all current members/participants, families, donors and community partners of the Y and also to the broader public throughout Simcoe County, Muskoka and Parry Sound. Participants have from today until February 5, 2022, to complete the survey, which can be accessed at www.ymcasm.ca/Survey.

The YMCA’s strategic plan is set to launch July 1, 2022, and will focus on community needs and the many ways the YMCA can fulfill its goal of helping community members feel healthy, strong, safe and included, so they can reach their full potential.

The community survey will play a vital role in shaping the plan that will help the YMCA achieve its goals, said CEO Jill Tettmann.

“Our new strategic plan will help the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka respond and evolve to address the pressures brought on by COVID-19, and move towards a future of recovery and stabilization,” said Tettmann. “Our goal is to develop a community-informed strategy that will ensure the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka continues to build community health and strength for generations to come.”

Tettmann said the YMCA is excited about this unique opportunity to focus on strengthening the association’s future, including in communities where pandemic-related facility closures were necessary, and to hear how it can enhance its efforts to create a community of inclusion where everyone belongs and thrives.

“This survey is an opportunity for us to learn about our community’s needs directly from the source, and we hope people from across the region will take a few minutes to share their insights. We operate in nearly 80 locations across the region and are committed to helping community members connect to health, to important supports, and to each other in each of those locations. By uncovering emerging needs, this survey will help our YMCA better serve our community in meaningful ways.”
