
A young driver was charged Monday night with stunt driving by Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) after being spotted spinning in a parking lot.
Around 10 p.m. Monday, Huntsville OPP saw a vehicle drifting around in a parking lot on King William Street, with the driver appearing not to be in control of the vehicle
Officers stopped the driver and conducted an investigation which resulted in stunt driving charges against the 18-year-old man from Toronto. The driver was also given notices for other various provincial infractions.

The driver received a 30-day license suspension, his vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and he is set to appear in court at a later date.

POSSIBLE STUNT DRIVING PENALTIES
- A minimum fine of $2,000, and a maximum of $10,000
- Six demerit points will be added to your driving record
- A first-time conviction can result in a license suspension of one to three years.
- Up to six months in jail is a possibility for a first offense
- A mandatory driver improvement course
- A conviction may impact your insurance premiums
- Subsequent convictions will result in progressively harsher penalties, including potential lifetime license suspension.
