York Regional Police (YRP) are seeking witnesses to a deadly collision in King Township that claimed the life of a woman.

Police were called around 7 a.m. Sunday to the intersection of King Road and the 8th Concession, east of Nobleton, between Highway 27 and Highway 400.

Authorities say the investigation has revealed that a black Infiniti G37 was travelling at a high rate of speed and struck a light pole.

There were six people in the car between the ages of 18 and 19.

Police say an 18-year-old female passenger from Brampton was killed.

Four other passengers were injured, one of them critically. The 18-year-old male driver from Brampton escaped unhurt.

Investigators are urging anyone who saw what happened, including anyone who may have dashcam footage or video surveillance of the area around the time of the collision, to contact YRP’s Major Collision Investigation Unit at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7704, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
