Barrie Beryl's over the top, records nearly 100 mm of rain

The remnants of Hurricane Beryl left a soaking mark in Barrie.

The city received 99 mm of rain on Wednesday, which was the soggiest tally in the province, according to weather stations monitored by Environment Canada. Forecasters say the Muskoka Airport picked up 35. 3 mm

According to volunteer weather spotters, the town of Monkton in midwestern Ontario picked up 120.7 mm of rain, while Shanty Bay came in at 70.2 mm and Orillia was drenched with 55.8 mm

Environment Canada says rainfall amounts of 50 to 100 mm were observed across a large part of southern Ontario.
