There have been 11 confirmed cases of COVID-19 linked to a Vaughan sports facility, and York Region Public Health (YRPH) says one of the individuals is from Simcoe Muskoka. The others are from the Greater Toronto Area.
YRPH issued a public notice that the cases were linked to a pair of soccer games played on Nov. 11 and Nov. 15 at TRIO Sportsplex and Event Centre, in the area of Highway 400 and Teston Road.
Health officials said the group of 20-25 people attended both events, and they wore masks during the game, but they did not have them on in the change rooms.
Those infected are being asked to self-isolated for 14 days.
Health officials said anyone who attended the games should monitor their symptoms as the risk of exposure is high.
