12 new COVID-19 cases in Simcoe Muskoka since last update on June 12

Only five people are in hospital with the virus

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday since the last update on Friday, June 12.

There have been 525 confirmed cases of the virus and 439 are classified as recovered. The number of recoveries increased by three.

No new cases have been reported in Barrie since the update on Thursday, June 11. There have been 164 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city and 141 are listed as recovered.

Only five people in Simcoe Muskoka are being treated in hospital for COVID-19 and there have been no new patients hospitalized with the virus since Friday.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 remains at 36.

Two institutional outbreaks are still on the books, at Owen Hill Care Community in Barrie and Creedan Valley Care Community in Creemore.
