Would you like to be more creative? Learn a new skill? Pick up a new or different hobby?
Check out the 13th annual Celebration of Arts & Crafts at the Simcoe County Museum on March 7.
The event is hosted by the Simcoe County Arts and Crafts Association (SCACA).
It represents local artisans and members of numerous guilds from all over Simcoe County. Some crafts are new, some are heritage and/or traditional.
Macrame, for example, was popular in the 1970s. New patterns that are available now are creating a lot of interest.
There will be demonstrations and opportunities to learn how to make a wide variety of crafts. Rug-hooking, embroidery, hand-weaving, spinning, lace-making, leather-craft, wood-carving and more will be represented.
In addition, a variety of materials will be available for purchase to make crafts that catch your interest.
This is the 13th annual event. It runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. There is also a raffle, door prizes, and refreshments. Admission is free. Visit www.simcoecrafts.ca for more.
