Today, the Barrie Chamber of Commerce announced the 2022 Finalists for the Barrie Business Awards.
During the announcement, Jeff Lehman talked about the strength of our business community.
"We are a regional center but that doesn't come anywhere close to telling the story of how strong this community is and I know in the face of adversity, whether its COVID or a tornado or business challenges like a recession or otherwise, we constantly show support for one another." Lehman continues, "What really, I think, defines us is we have a strong sense of who we are and what we want to be and the Chamber has re-enforced, for years, that we want to be a strong business community and engine for our area."
The Barrie Business Awards began in 2003 as a way to recognize the contribution of local businesses to the ongoing success of our community. Every year a call for nominations is made in the spring. Nominee profiles are collected throughout the summer. From there, a panel of judges select the top 3 finalists in each category.
In 2022 there were 175 nominations, 90 business submissions and a total of 39 finalists across 13 categories. This year's Barrie Business Awards categories and finalists are:
