52-year-old Emsdale woman charged with fraud and drug possession
Police say fraudulent prescriptions were used to collect opioids

A 52-year-old Emsdale woman has been charged following a February 20th investigation.
The Huntsville and Bracebridge OPP received a report that a woman had been using fraudulent prescriptions as a means to collect controlled substances.
Following the investigation, police seized a quantity of the opioid hydromorphone, a semi-synthetic derivative of morphine. The woman was charged with numerous offenses — including nine counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance and three counts of fraud.
She was released and has a court date on April 1st.
