Your neighbourhood 7-Eleven convenience store might be serving Ontario-made beer and wine in the near future.
According to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), there were 61 liquor applications filed for 7-Eleven store locations in Ontario – none in the Barrie area.
7-Eleven Canada sent out a media release Tuesday, announcing its plans to display a selection of Ontario-made beer and wine and serve it in designated areas.
If those licences get approved by the AGCO, 7-Eleven Canada says its staff would take the Smart Serve training program.
“We are committed to meeting the needs of our Ontario customers and we look forward to the opportunity to grow jobs and contribute to the Ontario economy,” the statement said.
