Fire that ripped through Wasaga Beach motel called 'suspicious': OPP

Huronia West OPP are seeking the public's assistance as they probe a "suspicious" fire that ripped through the Villa Nova Motel in Wasaga Beach.

Just after midnight on Monday, emergency services responded to a report of a structure fire at the motel located on Mosley Street. Police said the majority of the fire was contained on the second floor. All occupants were able to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported. The building is currently uninhabitable.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have dash camera or surveillance footage from the area, to contact investigators.
