Hammers swinging, display cases smashed during a jewelry store robbery inside the Georgian Mall.
Barrie police say they received multiple reports around 6 p.m. Tuesday about several masked individuals smashing display cases with hammers and removing merchandise. Witnesses reported that four suspects, believed to be males in their late teens or early 20s, were seen leaving the area in a dark-coloured sedan travelling in an unknown direction along Bayfield Street.
When officers arrived at the Michael Hill jewelry store, they found significant damage to several display cases. Glass from the displays was scattered throughout the business and in the nearby mall corridor. A quantity of jewelry was also found on the floor.
