Police arrived in the area of Anne Street North and Donald Street to find a 43-year-old Barrie man in life-threatening condition. He was eventually brought to a local hospital before being air-lifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre.
Anne Street North was closed from Donald Street to Edgehill Drive for the investigation until around 4:30 a.m. Among the units involved were the Forensic Identification Unit and Canine Unit.
Police say detectives identified a 28-year-old Barrie man, Adam Myshak as a suspect in the incident, wanted on charges of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, and aggravated assault.
