Provincial police say a motorcyclist has been hospitalized with serious injuries after a three-vehicle crash in Gravenhurst.

Police say the collision happened just before 3:50 Thursday afternoon on Highway 11 southbound near Sparrow Lake Route D, where Bracebridge OPP, Muskoka EMS, and Gravenhurst Fire crews all responded.

Witnesses reported that a motorcycle rider was trapped underneath the bike. Police say he was freed and airlifted to a Toronto hospital to be treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The subsequent investigation eventually led to the arrest an 18-year-old man from Angus who was charged with impaired operation, driving with cannabis readily available, and driving in contravention of G2 licence conditions.

He is scheduled for a court appearance in Bracebridge on July 7.
