
Provincial police arrested and charged an Alliston man on Sept. 10 following a child sexual exploitation investigation in the town.
The OPP's Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU) along with officers from the Nottawasaga detachment the and Digital Forensics Unit executed a search warrant at an Alliston residence, where they seized multiple electronic devices.
A 58-year-old man from Alliston is facing two counts of creating child sexual abuse and exploitation material, three counts of possessing such material, two counts of making it available, and two counts of agreeing to commit a sexual offence against a child.
He remains in custody pending a bail hearing and is set to appear before in a Barrie court on Friday.
In a news release, the OPP reminded parents to "take a proactive approach to help protect their children from online sexual exploitation by educating them on internet safety."
